Data Centre Network Build

A data centre is a facility housing a network of computer servers, typically used by organisations for the remote storage, processing, or distribution of large amounts of data.

CET Connect provides critical information, communication, and technology (ICT) solutions for data centres across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe, for leading Global Data Centre providers.

Our team is highly experienced in the installation of cabling infrastructure required for the operation of data centres. We also provide services to manage infrastructure upgrades to support the evolving demands of computing power and bandwidth, and provide ongoing maintenance to ensure network reliability and performance.

Data centre networks are mission-critical systems that require multiple layers of redundancy. CET Connect has a proven ability to deliver and work within these complex environments, consistently meeting the highest standards of delivery. The confidence our clients place in us is reflected in the strong level of repeat and referral business we receive.

Given the volume and nature of the third-party information stored in data centres, security is paramount. Our in-house management procedures enable us to work seamlessly within secure environments, while adhering to each facility’s specific requirements.

Network Design

At CET Connect, we provide expert network design support to end users and engineers, tailored to meet installation and budgetary requirements.

Our team are available to provide expertise regarding network design, existing network health checks, redundancy concerns, upgrades, speed and connectivity concerns.

We also work closely with manufacturers’ design teams to establish an early alliance between the end user, the installer, and the manufacturer. This collaborative approach ensures the project receives the appropriate design specification and equipment, delivering a solution that aligns with the end user’s goals.

Structured Cabling

Structured cabling is all about creating the infrastructure that builds connectivity. At CET Connect, we’ve built a strong reputation in the industry by adopting a partnership approach with all our clients. At the heart of this is our willingness to be flexible, responsive, and proactive in achieving project deadlines.

We have extensive experience in CAT6 and Cat6a systems, offering complete end to end solutions in both UTP and FTP configurations. We invest in specific brand training and the most up-to-date testing equipment, both vital to ensuring a quality installation is delivered.

CET Connect is vendor independent and a Certified Installer for a range of leading cabling solutions:

Fibre Optic Services

Fibre optic communication is a cutting-edge method of transmitting data using pulses of light through strands of optical fibre. It offers significantly greater bandwidth than traditional copper wiring and is far less susceptible to electromagnetic interference.

With today’s technology requiring more bandwidth than ever before, fibre optic is a key solution that provides networks with much greater capacity to carry high volumes of data at minimum cost.

At CET Connect, we bring extensive experience and technical expertise in successfully installing, terminating and commissioning fibre optic infrastructure projects for our clients. Whether it’s a new campus area network or a single cable installation, every project receives the same level of attention from every member of the CET Connect Team.

Fibre optic connectivity forms a vital part of data centre infrastructure, delivering the high bandwidth performance required to transmit large volumes of information. CET Connect has substantial experience in data centre fibre optic installations.

Our Fibre Optic Services include:

  • Fibre Optic Network Detailed Design
  • Single mode Fibre Optic Cabling Installations (OS1 & OS2)
  • Multimode Fibre Optic Cabling Installations (OM1, OM2 ,OM3 and OM4)
  • Fusion Splicing, Glue & Polish, Mechanical Crimping
  • Fibre Testing & Certification, including OTDR and OLTS
  • Full Fibre Optic Network Documentation

Testing

Whether installing new cable, or troubleshooting existing infrastructure, cable testing plays an important role in the process. Common tests for datacom cabling include length measurement, wiremap validation, attenuation, Near-End Crosstalk (NEXT), DC loop resistance, and return loss.

As network technologies evolve, so do the requirements of cabling systems. New standards are continuously developed to guide cabling professionals in the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and certification of both copper and fibre cabling. Whether its 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX or 1000BASE-T, there are specific requirements and potential pitfalls in implementing these technologies. With 10GBASE-T, it becomes even more critical to keep current with the latest proliferations in cabling and cable testing.

Cable testing provides assurance that installed cabling links deliver the transmission performance needed to support users’ data communication requirements.

CET Connect utilises high-quality, fully calibrated cable analysers, ensuring reliable and accurate testing results across all projects.

Ongoing Service Provision

Moves, adds and Changes (MAC’s) are a core part of the ongoing service we provide to help keep their infrastructure aligned with changing needs – whether that’s updating equipment, accommodating new staff, or reconfiguring office layouts. A MAC can be as simple as relocating a single network point as involved as decommissioning services in one location and relocating then elsewhere on site or at a new facility.

Our ongoing service provision for MAC’s truly reflects CET Connect’s commitment to our partnership approach with each client. We provide ongoing support for a number of clients including Sanofi, CIT, HSE, Bausch and Lomb, Electrical Contractors, and Confidential Data Centre Clients. This includes rapid-response services like hardware installations, system configurations, troubleshooting, and audits, as well as office upgrades, staff relocations, and additional workstations.

These works usually require a brief site survey and, in many cases, we’re required to be on site at short notice to carry out cabling works and modifications. Thanks to our flexible operational structure, we are well positioned to respond quickly and effectively.

This is a very important of CET Connect, as we always aim to view each project from the client’s perspective.
